While Japan-based engineers provide some of the world’s best optical molds and product
design, Coltech’s dedicated staff produce some of the world’s finest plastic optical
quality lenses, two shot injection molded parts, commercial injection molded parts,
and LED illuminated LCD backlight systems.
We have a well-established global clientele in over 10 countries and regions. We
have provided them with quality design and manufacturing services in the past 4 decades.

History:
Coltech became a joint venture between COLcoat and ampTECH in 1994. Both partners
were leaders in their fields. Calgary-based AMPTECH Corporation was founded in 1967
and was a worldwide supplier of tools & dies and high volume production of precision
injection-molded & die-cut components.
In 1995, Coltech started initial production in Calgary of LCD lenses in a Class 10,000
(ISO:7) Cleanroom. The same year, we acquired the ISO 9001 Certification.

Colcoat Co. Ltd., of Tokyo, Japan was established in 1956 and began full-scale production
of plastic lenses in 1976. In addition to photo-optics, Colcoat markets plastic synthetic
resin products and synthetic chemicals and holds more than 60 patents for products,
utility models and trade names. Research is continuing to develop precision designs
for the highest optical quality plastic lenses.
